If your love for cheese is often clouded with the guilt of consuming ungodly amounts of fats and calories, we have some good news for you. Goat cheese or chèvre is made with goat’s milk and is considered more nutritionally dense and healthier when compared to cow cheese. While goat cheese is made with the same curdling and division method as cow cheese, there are several notable differences in the nutritional makeup of both. In fact, goat cheese is considered as a suitable alternative for those who are allergic to cow cheese and cannot effectively process lactose. Read on to find out what are the differences between goat cheese and cow cheese, and how goat cheese has the upper hand!

    Goat cheese with mixed herbs

Our goat cheese( chèvre) is made from milk of goats who go for grazing in Arawali hills. Since there is no pan feeding, our Goats get the liberty to choose their own food( best of herbs and shrubs) growing naturally and it improves the quality and flavour of milk. Cheese is made in traditional old fashioned way, using natural coagulant and microbial rennet ( 100% vegetarian). We use Himalayan salt to add on quality of cheese. All herbs added to cheese are grown in biodynamic ways at our farm and they make cheese more flavourful and nutritionally richer.

    How to use-

Chèvre with herbs can be used on toast, in salad, sandwiches, pizza, pasta but best way to enjoy it is, let it come to room temperature and have it with crackers/fruits or just plain ( the way french people eat it!)

Precautions- Your cheese is a living organism. Let it be in same butter paper in which it was packed. Keep it in a box( not airtight) and store in fridge in lower section ( near your vegetable basket). Use dry knife/spoon to take out the desired portion. If few weeks old, your cheese is more mature, richer and tastier.

Add the cheese to your soups, stews, salads, pasta, sandwich, potato pops and enjoy!

Shelf life :  Older it is better it is.    (6/8 Weeks)

    SOME TASTEFUL TIPS

Cheese can stay at room temperatures for some time before being served. In this way their characteristics and flavors will be enhanced. It can be served after lunch or dinner on a cheese platter with bread and eventually with wine. Cheese, (fondue) can be melted to provide the basic ingredient for a sauce, which is served with bread (baguette) for dipping. Cheese can be grated and sprinkled on baked dishes like cauliflower, sprouts, broccoli and many other vegetables. Among its many uses which made cheese a much loved food, we specially want to mention the Tosti, a crispy combination of toasted bread with ham or egg and cheese melted on top.
